So I'm rereading HBP before I hit the midnight show tomorrow, right, and I run across this on page 485 of the American edition:

"I have had it all tested for poison," [Slughorn] assured Harry, pouring most of the first bottle into one of Hagrid's bucket-sized mugs and handing it to Hagrid. "Had a house-elf taste every bottle after what happened to your poor friend Rupert."

I immediately decided that this was a) hilarious and b) totally intentional on JKR's part, and mentioned it to [info]entranceway's chatroom.

And then things got silly when one of the other players said this...

Haru (11:32:31 PM): I hear that name and think Giles and then think Anthany Stewert Head and then move to Rocky Horror Picture show
Haru (11:32:42 PM): Which now turns into Ron dressed as Frank N Furter
Haru (11:32:43 PM): Thanks

So then, of course, we had to cast the whole movie. Or at least, the main characters.

(warning: image heavy!)

HARRY POTTER HORROR SHOW )

Just let all that sink in for a moment.

So now I've asked [info]chambrofsekrits to cast the Criminologist for us because, quite frankly, we couldn't think of anything lulzy enough to fit in with the rest of the cast.

I'LL KEEP YOU UPDATED. 8)

Just in case you guys weren't aware.

HARRY POTTER COMES OUT THIS WEEK

I bought my midnight-showing tickets today 8) I'm going with my mom and my friend Tatum. I am unbelievably psyched. [info]chambrofsekrits is doing a Movie Premiere costume contest, which I am totally entering because I always dress up anyway (specifically, this year, as Ginny). I'm working on rereading the book, so I've got it all fresh in my head when I actually see it.

Right now I am watching a food styling competition on Food Network and suffering horribly because my 10:00 rule is in effect and I can't eat anything and Food Network is, as all college students know, porn for hungry people.

(As a direct result of this, tomorrow morning I'm going to the grocery store and buying eggs and making myself some scrambled eggs with salt/black pepper/dill and Monterey jack and possibly some paprika.)

Also, I haven't checked my flist in like two and a half days. I'm sorry, my dears, I'm a terrible flister.

❝the HARRYPOTTER meme❞

Been pimping out [info]entranceway on [info]app_this_plz. WE'RE GETTING A SLADE and we also got reserves for Tom Riddle and America out of it, so yay!

On a related note: When someone posts and says they're looking for a game for a character, and someone responds and says "[Insert game name here] would love to have you!" why would the original commenter reply with some variation on "I don't like your game, but thanks!" I mean, seriously. Does that just seem like an asshole thing to do to anyone else? Because I keep seeing that happen on there, and geez. You are not helping yourself, guys.

So I haven't updated in forever... oops.

I'm FINALLY done with summer classes. I managed to pull out As in both history and math, so my parents are letting me drop the summer 2 term class I was supposed to take so I can get an actual break. I'm going over to Richland to do that today.

In other news, Friday is a Harem party day! 8D 8D 8D [info]kyatto, [info]hoozilla, [info]comiter, [info]deaths_guardian, Heidi, and Clause are all coming over and we're gonna hang out for a day. I am very excited because the whole group of us hasn't all been in the same place at once in Idon'tevenknowhowlong.

I've been watching Merlin as it airs on NBC. It's completely historically inaccurate and deviates wildly from the original legend, but somehow... I LOVE IT ANYWAY. And I think I ship everything there is to ship, no joke.

I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things at [info]entranceway and [info]thecityrpg. Playing in two games at once isn't nearly as difficult as I always thought it would be. Actually, I like it, it gives me more opportunities for different kinds of interactions.

We're changing the lock on our house. Kimmie doesn't get a key. If she decides to take off and try to come home when no one is here to let her in... well, that's her problem. We're pretty much done catering to her lunacy at this point. We're also just going to go to Washington DC without her - even if we could get her to go, she'd bitch and whine and make everyone miserable the entire time. Again: her loss.

I'm starting to put together a mental list of things I'll be able to cook in the dorm this fall. I'm like 98% sure we'll have a stove, so that I'm not worried about, but I have no idea if we get an oven or not so I'm trying to think of things I can make without one.

Right now I'm watching Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. I had forgotten how deliciously silly this movie is.

edit: By the way - remember how Hotmail was buggering up on me, and I left them that extremely angry message about how they better fucking help me on their support forums? Well, the first person to respond said they'd checked my account and the address was on my Safe Senders list (well no shit, idiot, because I moved it back there) and the second just said "I assure you that our system does not move e-mail addresses from your safe senders list to your blocked senders list."

AAAAAAGHHHHH WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR ME TO GET HELP FOR THIS??

funny stuff: most things get better
So remember how a while back, Hotmail was blocking the email address that sends out comment notifications? And then it did it again, more recently?

Yeah, it's doing it yet again. And I am fed up with it.

So I posted this in their help forums. )

I swear to god, if they tell me my account security isn't good enough like they have the last two times, I'm gonna fuckin' cut some bitches.

In other news: my math class is fucking retarded, Half the time, I spend half the class sitting on my ass waiting for the teacher to come help me, because the system won't let me move on until I get a correct answer on the problem I'm on (or until I get it wrong enough times, thereby screwing up my score), and I'm not allowed to work on anything but math in the lab where the class is held. Basically, I am required to waste my time. It makes me SO CRAZY. As a direct result of this, I have to go in after history class ends today and spend probably somewhere between an hour and an hour and a half working on yet more math, without the benefit of help because my teacher won't be there.

God, I am so glad I'm done after tomorrow.

edit: Can I also note how much it PISSES ME THE FUCK OFF when people tell me "don't be silly, you aren't not good at math "followed by "your grades are fine" or "you're just not trying hard enough" or "you just have to work on it"?

Okay, first of all, on the rare occasion that my grades are okay, it's because I have spent literally hours working very intensely, usually with my dad holding my hand through the entire process. This is neither fun nor rewarding for me.

And why would I want to spend hours on end slaving over something that I don't enjoy, that brings me absolutely no sense of personal fulfillment, and, above all, is going to be entirely useless to me? The most math I'm ever going to have to use in my adult life is basic algebra. I don't need to know how to factor polynomials.

SO STOP FUCKING TRYING TO CONVINCE ME HOW COOL MATH IS. YOUR EXPERIENCE =/= EVERYONE ELSE'S.

You guys.

You guys.

This weekend.

So late Friday afternoon we (we being myself, Rusty, Tasha, and Bonnie) headed out for Austin. We had a ridiculously silly drive down wherein we did a lot of listening to stoner music and making loud noises for no reason and just generally behaving like five-year-olds.

Saturday we got up ridonkulously early and went to Barton Springs. I cannot seem to find a picture of the half you're not "supposed" to swim in but everyone does anyway, so you'll just have to take my word for it that it was fucking gorgeous. Also cold: Rusty told me the water is usually about 68 degrees this time of year.

We spent a couple hours splashing around in the water and then we went downtown to this awesome store called Toy Joy.

Yes, it is really as awesome as it looks. )

We also went to the Buffalo Exchange down the street, where we all geeked out hard at cool thrift store shit and bought stuff. I got a pair of Converse high-tops with PEACE SIGNS ALL OVER THEM, NO SHIT, YOU GUYS, THEY'RE AWESOME and they were eleven dollars because they showed wear. Fuck. Yes. I also got a new studded belt, my old one fell apart ages ago and I've been missing it. ):

And then it was time to go back to the house and get ready for Future Fest.

Yes, Rusty wore a tutu. A rainbow tutu. )

Suffice to say, Future Fest was fully awesome. We were some of the most colorful people there and we kept getting stopped by people who were rolling ridiculously hard. They liked to freak out and then take pictures of us, so we're willing to bet we'll be aaaaall over the internet by Wednesday.

The music was awesome, too, of course. Fuckin' ATB was there spinning. I stomped to ATB. Live. It was nuts.

We left there around 2:30 in the morning and went to Jack in the Box on the way home because we were all starving. By 3:30 I was totally unconscious. XD

Sunday we got up late and dawdled around and then went to the Gas Pipe so Rusty and Tasha could get a new piece... and that was about all we did that day. XDD

Anyway, I finally got home about 9:30 last night. And then sat up until 3:30 am working on math homework...

Oh well. At least I got a break. \o/

I'm off hiatus at [info]entranceway and [info]thecityrpg, finally. The City's a lot more fun than it was when I hiatus'd - they got a bunch of new players/characters while I was gone so there are lots more people for me to interact with now.

FUTURE FEST IS THIS WEEKEND. I'm so freakin' excited. We hit the road tomorrow afternoon and I am fucking psyched. This weekend is going to be so awesome.

We're watching Cinderella Man in history class because it takes place during the Great Depression, and it is absolutely amazing, you guys. Parts of it are just heartbreaking, but man am I loving it. RENT IT IF YOU GET THE CHANCE. Russell Crowe = ♥.

It's still murderously hot here, btw. Hitting 100 in the middle of the day and higher than that with the heat index.

Waurgh I have so much to do before we leave tomorrow x_______x

edit: Apparently people are all hacked off about some of the characters in the new Transformers movie. It seems a little silly to me. I mean, they asked "Why did they talk like bad black stereotypes" -- well, like they said: The robots had to learn everything about human behavior and interaction from the internet. And really, where are there more racist, stereotype-perpetuating assholes than on the internet? Not to mention which, it's not as though they were written to be that way; if the voice actors did it all themselves, and one of them was black -- I just don't think it's as huge of a deal as people are trying to make it out to be.

Just my two cents.

How are your favorite anime fandoms animations like relationships?

(I kept it to animation in general because I have waaaaay too many fandoms otherwise.)

☛ The steady
Fullmetal Alchemist. Harry Potter.

☛ The old flame you don't see very often any more but whom you still really enjoy getting together with for a few drinks and maybe a pleasant nostalgic romp in the sheets
Inuyasha.

☛ The one who seduced you and fucked you over and broke your heart in a million pieces and laughed about it
NANA. EVIL THING. Also Dennou Coil.

☛ The mysterious dark gothy one whom you used to sit up with talking until 3 a.m. at weird coffee houses and with whom you were quite smitten until you realized he really was fucking crazy
I’m gonna go with [Bad username: ”hoozilla”] on this one – HELLSING.

☛ The one you spent a whole weekend in bed with and who drank up all your liquor, and whom you'd still really like to fuck again although you're relieved he doesn't actually live in town
Gurren Lagann.

☛ The alluring stranger whom you've flirted with at parties but have never gotten really serious with
DOGS.

☛ The one you hang out with and have vague fantasies about maybe having a thing with but ultimately you're just good buddies 'cause the friendship is there but the chemistry ain't.
Katekyo Hitman Reborn.

☛ The one your friends keep introducing you to and who seems like a hell of a cool guy except it's never really gone anywhere
Tales of anything, Kuroshitsuji

☛ The one who's slept with all your friends, and you keep looking at him and thinking, "Him? How the hell did he land all these cool babes?"
P4, Soul Eater, whatever else the fads are

☛ The one your friend has fallen for like a ton of bricks and whom she keeps babbling to you about on the phone for hours, and you'd be happy for her except you just know it's going to end badly
uhhhhhhhhh what’s the current fad-anime?

☛ The ones you repeatedly cheat on your steady with
